In this session, we will practice working with Verse 30 from the Vijnana Bhairava Tantra, a 1000+ year old collection of Meditation Techniques from the Trika Lineage of Kashmir Shaivism. In this lineage there are 12 Main Chakras or energy centers in the body along the central energy channel known as the Sushumna Nadi, running thru the middle of the body from the perineum to above the crown of the head. We will Intone and use the 12 Sanskrit Vowels sequentially starting at the Base Chakra at the perineum and successively moving our imagination and visualization thru each energy center in this Guided Meditation.
I am using Christopher Hareesh Wallis's translation of Verse 30 from the Vijnana Bhairava Tantra for this practice. He is the author of "Tantra Illumination" and "The Recognition Sutras" and an internationally known Sanskrit authority of Tantric Meditation Practices as well as a Practioner Teacher.
It is said that anyone of the meditation practices of the Vijnana Bhairava Tantra can be a transformative and enlightening practice. This particular practice assumes you have a certain focus and experience to really integrate its powerful energetic experience. You may have to work with it over time to develop the meditation chops to be comfortable with it. I made this podcast for those of you who have the determination and interest for it as well as some other students in a study group that I am working with under the tutelage of Christopher Wallis.

The One Heart Yoga Nidra Session is slightly shorter than other Yoga Nidra on this podcast. It is designed to break down the barriers between your thinking mind and your essential self to promote inner self awareness. I originally used this as a guided meditation savasana at the end of a Barkan Hot Vinyasa Class at Steam House Hot Yoga and Pilates in Epping NH where I teach Yoga.
This Meditation is perfect to do during your day as a meditation practice, perhaps after lunch or in the afternoon. You may also get a great deal of benefit from doing it after a Hatha Yoga Practice Session or before bedtime. At those times the body will be able to completely relax so that the transformative and healing benefits of Yoga Nidra can take root in your consciousness in the best possible way.
